Parents, Students, and Loyal fans,

Hopefuly everyone has completed their Registrations forms, I am keeping that file on this page for a bit longer and afterwards it will still remain on the band page for this year.

 Website updates:

Just minor changes.  Minutes from the last meeting and font changes.

Added a search box then hid it to torture you.

Heads up!

Each student is required to donate at least two (2) cases of water. This water will be used during football games and competitions for the students. Bring your cases of water in early!

  • Fair Share(Still outstanding balances)

EVERY member of the band must share in the expenses of operating the program. Fair Share for the 2017-2018 year will be $325.00 in total regardless of whether the student is in competition band or concert band only.

Additional siblings will pay a Fair Share of $100 each. For students selected for competition band, $100 of the Fair Share will be due after the spring band camps but before summer to hold your spot in the competition band for the fall. This is PART OF the students FAIR SHARE and NOT an additional fee.

Percussion members are also required to pay a $150 maintenance fee. must pay a minimum of $200.00 of their fair share no later than August 15th (payments will be accepted beginning 6/1/17). There will be additional expenses for competition band, however we will not assess additional fees. Instead, members of the competition band will be required to participate in fundraisers to cover the additional costs of the competition season.

Students participating only in concert band (not competition band) will still be required to attend all football games, play in the stands and act as logistics crew for the competition band. They will not perform the competition show during the games.Individual fund raising events will also be offered throughout the year to assist with individual Fair Share and other expenses.A $100 instrument rental fee will also be collected each semester for students who use a school-provided instrument.

  • Parent Volunteer Hours

Each student is expected to have a parent or family member volunteer at least 10 hours at some time during the year. Volunteer hours can be fulfilled in many ways: chaperoning, working in the concession stand, and working on prop construction are just a few opportunities. One home football game can fulfill 4 or 5 hours of volunteer time!

Chaperoning

Chaperones receive free admission to games/competitions and get to know the fantastic band kids! Chaperone requirements and responsibilities are outlined in the Band Chaperone Handbook. All chaperones must complete an application required by the school board and will have a background check done before being approved to work with the students.

Medical Chaperone

One of the chaperones at every event is designated to be the medical chaperone. This person carries the first aid bag and student medical release forms, and responds to minor emergencies and medication needs. Although medical personnel are preferred, anyone who is first aid/CPR certified can fill this position.

Concession Stand Fun Crew

At every home game, the band operates the visitor-side concession stand, providing the band with football game fundraising.  Volunteers are needed to prepare and sell concession items, and the band members and their families are strongly encouraged to utilize the band concession stand on their breaks.

Logistics

A logistics chaperone will be needed for some of the football games and competitions. The logistics team picks up and returns the equipment truck, drives it to and from the games or competitions, and supervises the student leadership team who do all the loading and unloading of the truck.

  • Uniforms

All students will be issued parts of a school-owned marching uniform to wear to football games and competitions. The student will be provided a jacket, shako (hat), and plume (feather). In addition to issued uniform parts, every student participating in band is expected to purchase certain uniform parts and a concert uniform. These items are separate from the Fair Share fee; however, they are typically a one-time purchase, and the student owns the uniform and can use it from year to year once it is purchased All band students are required to purchase (through the school) bibbers (overalls worn under the jacket), dinkles (shoes) and gloves. The cost of these items is $85.00.Payment for these items must be made by August 15, 2017, so we can order them in time for marching season. Students are also required to provide and wear black socks with their marching uniform.

Prior to concert season, students will need to purchase a tuxedo (for guys) or concert dress (for girls). The dresses will be ordered through the school and must be pre-paid before concert season begins. The cost of the dresses is $70.00 and payment is due no later than October 1, 2017. The approximate cost will be $100.00.The provider information will be disclosed at a later date. Once again, concert attire is a ONE TIME expense (NOT annual expense) unless your student damages, loses, or outgrows them. There also may be some used concert attire, bibbers or dinkles available from seniors who are graduating or students who have outgrown their uniforms.

Color guard uniforms are included with their fair share, and are custom made to coordinate with the theme of the show. Guard members may keep their uniform after marching season.

Practice uniforms were addressed prior, but to recap, the practice uniform currently is a white t-shirt, black shorts (knee length), white socks and white tennis shoes.
